Project Overview

CKG Technology Solutions completed a Wi-Fi network takeover and expansion project at Ocean City Campground & Beach Cabins, improving network performance while maximizing the value of the campground’s existing infrastructure.

Unlike many projects that require a complete replacement, this campground already had a strong foundation in place with enterprise-grade Cambium Networks equipment and a fiber optic backbone serving much of the property. CKG’s goal was to optimize the existing network, eliminate performance bottlenecks, and prepare the system for future growth.

Phase One: Network Optimization

The first step was a complete cleanup and reorganization of the network’s core infrastructure. A properly organized network rack improves reliability while also making future maintenance, troubleshooting, and expansion significantly easier.

During this phase, CKG Technology Solutions:

• Cleaned up and reorganized the main network rack
• Reprogrammed and optimized every Cambium access point and network device
• Upgraded point-to-point (PtP) wireless backhaul links to deliver true gigabit connectivity to access points
• Fine-tuned the network for improved coverage, capacity, and overall reliability

These improvements increased throughput across the network while helping ensure guests receive the fast, dependable internet service they expect.

Phase Two: Supporting Campground Expansion

As Ocean City Campground & Beach Cabins expanded, CKG Technology Solutions returned to extend the wireless network into newly developed areas of the property.

The team installed additional wireless infrastructure, integrated the new equipment into the existing network, and commissioned the expansion to provide seamless Wi-Fi coverage throughout the new sections of the campground.

By building on the campground’s existing infrastructure rather than replacing equipment unnecessarily, CKG helped preserve the property’s technology investment while creating a network capable of supporting continued growth.
