Project Overview
CKG Technology Solutions completed a Wi-Fi network takeover and infrastructure optimization project at Gettysburg Campground, improving reliability, documentation, and the campground’s foundation for future network expansion.
Rather than replacing the entire system, the project focused on evaluating the existing infrastructure, correcting installation issues, and optimizing the network to deliver the best possible performance from the equipment already in place.
Documenting the Existing Network
The first step was documenting the campground’s entire wireless network. Every access point, point-to-point link, and network component was mapped and identified, creating an accurate network layout for future maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
Having complete network documentation gives campground staff and technicians a much clearer understanding of how the system is connected and helps reduce unnecessary troubleshooting time when changes or repairs are needed.
Strengthening the Physical Infrastructure
CKG Technology Solutions also addressed several physical infrastructure concerns throughout the campground. Many wireless devices had originally been mounted on lightweight EMT conduit that was not designed for long-term outdoor wireless installations.
Those supports were replaced with secure mounting poles that provide a stronger, more stable foundation capable of withstanding outdoor conditions while helping maintain proper antenna alignment.
The team then completed the mounting, securing, and cleanup of the remaining wireless equipment before moving into final network optimization.
Optimizing Wi-Fi Performance
With the physical infrastructure improvements complete, CKG Technology Solutions performed a full optimization of the wireless network.
Access point settings, wireless channels, transmit power, and overall network performance were fine-tuned to reduce interference and improve coverage throughout Gettysburg Campground.
The result is a smoother, more reliable Wi-Fi experience for guests and a better-performing network for campground operations.
